A Message from the Principal
Dear Cold Spring Parents, Guardians and Students, A Happy and Healthy New Year to one and all. As adopted by the Pine Plains Board of Education, Cold Spring will be a K-2 school for the coming school year, and Seymour Smith a 3-5. Parent Informational Meetings will continue to occur. All current parents/guardians of students at either should have received a Frequently Asked Questions document and a notice of parent orientation and informational meetings by US Mail. You may also access this information on our school or district's main web page. Elementary Configuration Parent Informational Meetings: - Tues., 1/20, from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. @ SS - Thurs., 1/21, from 7-8 p.m. at CS - Thurs., 1/28, from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. @ CS NOTE: Rescheduled due to snow closing to 2/10/10 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. @ CS - Thursday, 2/4, 7-8 p.m. @ SS - Friday, 2/5, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. @ SS - Wednesday, 2/10, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. @ CS Please contact us at Cold Spring School (845 868-7451) or Seymour Smith (518 398-3000) if you plan to attend. Indicate how many adults will attend, and note any need for childcare, which will be provided at evening meetings. Special Message to Pine Plains Kindergarten or 1st Grade Students (and families), You are invited to an Open House event for all current Pine Plains Kindergarten, 1st grade, AI-1st, and PSE students. Since children in your grades will be in the same school next year, we are having a fun, Getting to Know Each Other Activity Night on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. While this event is for current kindergarteners and first graders, there will be childcare available for brothers and sisters, from 4 to 12 years of age, if needed. Please have a parent or guardian call Take Note...Helping Hands: Our student council is conducting a voluntary fundraising activity to support Doctors without Borders' work in Haiti. Any visitors to, and members of, Cold Spring may donate to this cause. This effort was suggested by one of our altruistic fifth grade students and his family. Sincerely, James R. Glynn Principal
