Dear Cold Spring Parents, Guardians and Students,

A Happy and Healthy New Year to one and all.

As adopted by the Pine Plains Board of Education, Cold Spring will be a K-2 school for the coming school year, and Seymour Smith a 3-5.  Parent Informational Meetings will continue to occur.  All current parents/guardians of students at either should have received a Frequently Asked Questions document and a notice of parent orientation and informational meetings by US Mail.  You may also access this information on our school or district's main web page.

Special Message to Pine Plains Kindergarten or 1st Grade Students (and families),

You are invited to an Open House event for all current Pine Plains Kindergarten, 1st grade,  AI-1st, and PSE students.  Since children in your grades will be in the same school next year, we are having a fun, Getting to Know Each Other Activity Night on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

While this event is for current kindergarteners and first graders, there will be childcare available for brothers and sisters, from 4 to 12 years of age, if needed.

Please have a parent or guardian call Cold Spring School at 845 868-7451 if you would like to come, or return the form below by Thursday, February 4th.  So we have enough refreshments and prizes, let us know how many children and big people will be coming, as well as childcare needs.

Take Note...Helping Hands:

Our student council is conducting a voluntary fundraising activity to support Doctors without Borders' work in Haiti.  Any visitors to, and members of, Cold Spring may donate to this cause.  This effort was suggested by one of our altruistic fifth grade students and his family.

Sincerely,

James R. Glynn

Principal
