Tax Collection Information

While some municipalities may be authorized to bill for and collect 2018 taxes early, New York State School districts do not have the authority to levy taxes until a budget passes (generally in May) and the Board of Education subsequently authorizes the tax warrant, typically in August.  The Pine Plains Central School District is therefore unable to collect 2018-19 school taxes at this time and will not have taxing authority for the 2018-19 school year until tax collection begins in early September of 2018.
