| Vision 2012 |
Vision 2012 We believe in preparing each student physically, socially, emotionally, and academically for graduation, and in providing each student with the needed tools, knowledge and confidence to be a successful, well-rounded and productive member of society. We, as an educational community, are dedicated to promoting student success by offering a variety of opportunities that encourage academic, social, and cultural growth. We believe that a sense of self-worth and mutual respect will enable students to continue their journey as autonomous individuals and life-long learners. We believe that it is every individual’s responsibility to act as a role model showing our school and community that through respect, kindness, diligence and integrity, high achievement can be attained. We value a safe and nurturing environment, during all school related activities and on the buses, that promotes open communication, mutual care and respect, and the promotes the physical, psychological, and emotional safety of all students, staff and community members. We believe in providing a quality education for our students while practicing fiscal responsibility for the benefit of the school district and community. We believe in the importance of respect, honesty, pride, and the acceptance of diversity among all individuals within the entire school community. We believe parents, district employees, students and residents of the district have an ongoing shared responsibility to ensure individual student success through mutual respect, active and engaging communication, and cooperation. In a nutshell, the “five pillars” or core values can be distilled for easy recall in a shortened version: We “Grow Smart Kids” · With the skills and confidence to become successful, well rounded and productive citizens; · Together with families, employees and community · In a safe and nurturing environment; · While practicing fiscal responsibility; · Through mutual respect, communication and cooperation. During the next four years, the building leadership teams, PTSA’s and employees of the district will take concrete steps to further advance these core values on a day-to-day basis. We will share our progress with you during the year, so that you can “live the vision” with us. Please let us know your ideas by email at vision @ppcsd.org or by calling my office at Ext. 401. Yours truly, Linda L. Kaumeyer Superintendent of Schools
