A little about me:
I grew up in Clinton Corners and am a Pine Plains graduate! I attended James Madison University where I obtained both my undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies and my Master’s degree in Special Education K-12. I then served as a Teach for America Corps member in Brooklyn, New York where I taught grades 5-8, special education and math for four years. I moved back to my hometown a few years ago not only to be closer to loved ones, but also to contribute to the community I was raised in. I now have a four month old son that is keeping my husband and me very busy too!
What I’ll be teaching this year:
I will be working as a 2nd-5th grade special education teacher this school year. It is my goal to provide individualized instruction so that students are making progress towards their academic goals. In my class, there will be a large emphasis on students creating goals each month and tracking their progress in order to determine if they are meeting these objectives. I feel it is crucial for students to not only be a part of their Individualized Education Programs (IEP), but to also be active participants in their education.
