ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT: Wall of Fame

The Pine Plains Sports Wall of Fame is organized as a means of recognizing, preserving, and promoting the heritage of interscholastic sports in the Pine Plains Central School District.  The Pine Plains Bomber Booster Club sponsors the Wall of Fame to honor athletes, coaches, teams, and or individuals who have made major contributions to the sports programs at Pine Plains Central School.

The purpose of the Wall of Fame is to recognize those for their efforts and accomplishments.  Past, present and future athletes will have the opportunity to see and appreciate all those who have contributed to the legacy of interscholastic sports in our district and for our future athletes to be inspired by these achievements.

Our community members are filled with memories of great teams and great players who have competed with honor and distinction for Pine Plains.  They have contributed to the legacy of what makes our community proud of our sports program.  To continue honoring our Districts sports accomplishments with the induction to our “Wall of Fame”, we need to know who is deserving of consideration for induction. You as a community member may submit a nomination of an individual or individuals for consideration.

To nominate, we ask that you fill out the nomination form including a written narrative of the individual(s),
why you believe this person(s) should be considered for induction into the Wall of Fame.  If the nominee is deceased, please include the name and address of a family member who can be contacted.

The Wall of Fame Committee is comprised of but not limited to, The Athletic Director, a representative of The Bomber Booster Club, community members, and coaches who as a group will study, discuss and vote on nominees.  A limited number of nominees will be accepted and honored at each induction.

Criteria for selection:  To be nominated and considered for induction a candidate shall have been:

1.     Inductees must be five years removed from Pine Plains Central School to be eligible

2.     Athletes should have accomplishments beyond all-league or all-county.

3.     Coaches should be long termed in Pine Plains with outstanding records and achievements.

4.     Community members should be those who have made long term commitments to the promotion and enhancement to interscholastic athletics in Pine Plains.

5.     Teams should be those who have achievements beyond league and/or sectional championship
and be sustained over extended periods of time.
