To Parents / Guardians of Pine Plains Students Signing Up for Sports.                            

We offer the convenience of online registration for sports through Arbiter Sports.
www.arbitersports.com is a secure registration platform that provides you with an easy, user-friendly way to register for sports, and helps us to be more administratively efficient and environmentally responsible. The system keeps track of your information in your account profile. You will need to register your child on-line for each sport, during the sports season registration dates that will be announced via email.

High School Sports: the on-line registration will open on July 18, 2025

These are required practices and count towards number of practices prior to first scrimmage.

REGISTRATION PROCESS: 

A parent/guardian should register on-line at www.arbitersports.com 

Follow these steps:

1. To find your program, click on the link provided by the Organization above and select the registration form under the word Programs.
   
   
2. Next click on the green Register Now button and scroll, if necessary, to the Create Account/Log In green buttons.  If you have an account use same username and password.
   
   
3. Create your secure account by entering the account owner first and last names (parent/guardian), E-mail address and password.
   Select I Agree to the Terms of Service. Click Create Account.
   
   
4. You will receive an email with a link to activate your new account.
    If you don’t see the email, check your E-mail filters spam, junk, etc.
                                                          
   Click on the link in your activation E-mail, which will log you in.
   
   
5. Once in the registration form, complete the information requested.
   All fields with a red* are required to have an answer.
   
   
6. Click the Save & Continue button when your form is complete.
   
   
7. Review your registration summary.
   
   
8. Click the green Submit button. After selecting ‘Submit’, the registration will be complete. You will receive a completion email from Arbiter Sports confirming your registration.

At any time, you may log in to update your information and to check your registration.

To view a completed registration, select the 'Registration' tab on the blue bar.

Congratulations to Violet Bliss, Junior for her performance at the New York State Indoor Track Championship competition at Ocean Breeze. She placed 14th in the NYS 3000m, breaking the school record and she placed 8th for the NYS 1500m race.  Well Done!

Varsity Girls Basketball have won the MHAL Division 4 title this season.  This is first since 2016.  They will be competing in the Mid Hudson Athletic League championships on Mon Feb 24^th at 5pm vs Highland HS (Division 3 winner) at Highland HS.

Lourdes (Division 1) vs Marlboro (Division 2) will be competing in other semi finals.  Pine Plains is Class C school, while Highland and Marlboro are Class A and Lourdes is Class AAA.

MHAL Championship will be Wed Feb 26 at Dutchess Community College at 5pm

Neveah Rennie (9th grade) has been selected as MHAL National Conference Player of the Year as voted on by the league coaches..  Neveah received the most votes of any player in MHAL Division 3 and 4. 

Section IX Class C Championships will be 3/5 at Mt St Mary College at 7pm

Winter Senior/ Parent Recognition Nights

Fri Jan 19th: Boys Basketball vs Dover 5:45pm.  We will honor seniors and their parents before Varsity game.  If this game is cancelled due to weather we will hold senior/ parent recognition on Monday Jan 22^nd vs SS Seward at 630pm.

Tue Jan 23^rd: Girls Basketball vs New Paltz 5:45pm. We will honor seniors and parents after the Varsity game.

We have some important events coming up for our Senior Athletes that I would like to share with you.  Please join us if you can.

I would like to introduce myself to the Pine Plains community that I may not have had the pleasure of meeting.  My name is Lester Funk, and I have agreed to become the Director of Athletics for this school district.

I am a lifelong member of the Pine Plains community and graduated Pine Plains HS in 1986.  I am very passionate about this athletic program and the teams we put on the court and fields.  I was the Director of Athletics my first 7 years here at Pine Plains starting in 1997.  We have a rich tradition and history of strong athletic teams in our school district.  My father and grandfather both played for the legendary Coach Barton here at Pine Plains. I have raised all 4 of my children here along with my amazing and supporting wife, Sarah.  Sarah was also born and raised here in Pine Plains.  I was fortunate to learn the game of baseball from 2 of the best coaches in our area, Mike Kohut was my HS coach and Phil Amelio for my Little League years.  My brother, Dan, holds the school record for most points in a single Varsity basketball game.  The traditions of Pine Plains athletics are extremely important to me as they are to many in this community.  I am a Veteran of the US Army where I served in Germany.  I returned from overseas and started my career as a Physical Education teacher.  During my college career, I also played baseball and was selected as an All American First team player earning a Division one scholarship to Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.  I was offered a free agent contract by the Baltimore Orioles.  I finished my college degree at Cortland State in 1994 and my Masters in Sports Management from US Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama. I am currently teaching Physical Education at the High School in my 28^th year.

Athletics play such a huge part in a young person’s life.  The lessons they teach are invaluable and, in many ways, help shape the person they become in the future.  Dedication, commitment, and teamwork are all vital traits they will use in life.  I was fortunate enough to have some outstanding coaches and role models growing up in this community.  For a small town, Pine Plains has always been highly regarded for the teams we put on the field or court.  The success of these teams is truly the dedication of the entire community.  Our recreation programs with outstanding volunteers, parental support and dedicated coaching staffs on MS/ HS level are all huge parts of our athletic environment.

Athletics is an area that promotes academic and athletic accomplishment while embracing excellence, discipline and sportsmanship. I look forward to working with our dedicated coaches, student athletes and parents to help create leaders and role models within our school community.  I recognize we have some work to do and will take some time to make changes and adjustments to this program.
