My name is Gerard Lisella and I joined the teaching team at Stissing Mountain in 2018. Originally from Peekskill, NY, I earned my BA in Mathematics and Theater from Quinnipiac University and my MAT from Bard College. I try to bring a level of passion, energy and excitement into every one of my classes, and to get students as engaged as possible.

Outside of the classroom, I’m an active member of the Stissing Mountain Theater Guild, and am an ACA-certified Sea Kayaking instructor. Between hiking, kayaking and stargazing, I love getting outdoors. And in the summers you're more likely to find me on the water than on dry land. While I'm always excited to talk about mathematics and logic, feel free to come by room 214 if you want to talk about getting out in nature, or hear me ramble on about the newest science fiction story I'm obsessed with, or get recommendations for some face-melting heavy metal.
