Hello, I am Mr. Maher, I have joined the Pine Plains teaching family in 2020 as a Special Education Teacher at Stissing Mountain Jr./Sr. High School. Prior to joining Pine Plains I taught in various districts in Dutchess County including Dutchess BOCES for the previous two years. I recieved a BA from Mount Saint Mary College in 2014 and a MA from Western Connecticut State University in 2016. I try to bring energy and positivity to the classroom to keep my students engaged in the learning process. I have worked primarily with high school students but have experience in the junior high setting as well. Currently, I work in mainstream rooms as well as in my own study center room where students will receive more individualized attention.

Outside the classroom I enjoy getting outdoors to go kayaking and hiking, or staying indoors and playing boardgames or reading.
