Legal Notice - Tax Collection

I, Joan C. Taylor, School Tax Collector, have received the Tax Warrant for the collection of school taxes for the Pine Plains Central School District.  Taxes can be paid in the following manner:

Collection of taxes will begin on September 9, 2020 and will end November 9, 2020.  School taxes paid and/or postmarked during the first 30-day period, September 9, 2020 to and including October 8, 2020 will be penalty free.  School taxes paid October 9, 2020 to and including November 9, 2020 must include the two percent (2%) penalty or the payment will be returned. 


Please be advised that the Board of Education of the Pine Plains Central School District has adopted a Tax Installment Payment Option for Dutchess County Property Taxpayers only.  Taxpayers may pay school taxes in two (2) installments pursuant to Dutchess County Local Law no. 4 of 1978.  The first school tax installment of 50% of the tax due together with a five per cent (5%) fee is due on September 15, 2020 payable to the Pine Plains School Tax Collector and the second installment of 50% of the tax due, together with a five percent (5%) fee, is due no later than March 15, 2020 made payable and mailed directly to the Dutchess County Commissioner of Finance. 


The collection period with the two per cent (2%) penalty will conclude on November 9, 2020 and all unpaid tax records will be returned to the County Treasurer.  After that date, payment of school taxes can be made by contacting the County Commissioner of Finance.
