New Student Board of Education Member

In May of 2022, the voters of the Pine Plains Central School District voted to approve appointing a Student Board of Education Member.  On September 7, 2022, the Board appointed John Bopp, III to serve on the Board for the 2022-23 school year.

John Bopp III is a Senior at Stissing Mountain Jr/Sr. High school.  Throughout high school, John has consistently challenged himself with Honors, AP and Dutchess Community College classes in all core areas.  In addition, he has taken advantage of many of the more strenuous electives and developed a strong, diverse academic foundation.  Even with these challenges, he has produced superior grades earning “A” Honor Roll throughout all four years.

In addition to maximizing academic offerings, John has immersed himself in after-school and local activities.  Basketball, Spring Track, Varsity Football, Class President, Math Honor Society, National Honor Society (Treasurer), SADD (President), Key Club, Varsity Club (Vice President), Student Activism Team and Yearbook Club.  He is an active community member and volunteers in his church as well as the food pantry.

John Bopp is held in high esteem by faculty and staff and is a positive presence in our hallways.  John speaks highly during his time as a student in our district.   After graduation John plans to continue his schooling as a mechanical engineer and return to Pine Plains to have the auditorium named after him.
